About Movie: - Beasts of the Southern Wild is an upcoming Drama movie.
Facing her father's fading health and the release of an army of
prehistoric creatures called aurochs, six-year-old Hushpuppy leaves her
home in search of her mother. A six year old girl from the southern
Delta searches for her long lost mother after her father falls ill and
the world spins out of balance in the film that took home the Grand Jury
Prize and Best Cinematography award at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
A harsh but loving father, Wink swore that his beloved daughter
Hushpuppy would be prepared for the day he was no longer able to look
after her. Little did Wink realize that day would come sooner than
anyone suspected, and when illness strikes him down nature runs amuck.
As the soaring temperatures melt ice caps and the sea levels swell, a
race of prehistoric beasts named the aurochs emerge to reclaim the
planet. Meanwhile, as the apocalypse unfolds, determined Hushpuppy
bravely sets out on a mission to reunite with the mother she's never
known.
Ultimately an ode to human resilience and self-reliance, Beasts Of The Southern Wild
is initially a little scattered, especially if you aren’t already
familiar with the story; however by the second act, it all starts to
come together and make sense. But what’s actually kind of interesting is
that, without giving the plot away, there’s a structural chaos early
on, which is accompanied by a blissful narrative. And as the film
progresses into the second and third acts, there’s a reversal of that -
the film’s structure seems to become much more orderly, while the
narrative amplifies the tragedy.
But it’s the kind of film one would expect to see in huge doses every year at the Sundance Film Festival – an independent film (both in budget and spirit) that manages to challenge, astonish and inspire audiences.
